Twenty twenty – the year ahead

January has arrived, and this week, we open up our office doors and walk into twenty twenty! The phones are ringing and the emails are flooding in from all the newly engaged couples, there is a hustle & bustle all around us as we put final details together for our summer weddings, and we know that the year ahead will be full of exciting opportunities, growth and experiences.

A milestone to celebrate this year is our 10th anniversary! From what started as humble beginnings, One Fine Day has grown into an established and integral part of the New Zealand wedding & event industry and one that I am immensely proud of. I’m forever grateful to my team, who believe in my vision and work hard to achieve exceptional results for our clients. Our suppliers, without them, this would not be possible, and to all the amazing and inspiring people I’ve met in the last ten years of business. You are all truly valued!

This year we have some great highs to look forward to, kicking off with launching our Destination Weddings brand. We’ve been working on this for a while, and it’s going to be well worth the wait! In March we’ll reveal our select collection of destination wedding locations around the world.

Mid-year will see us helping our #weddingwish winners tie the knot. #weddingwish is a yearly campaign that we launched in 2019 to help a New Zealand couple to create a day that is so far from reach due to some sort of personal hardship. We’re delighted to be running this again in 2020.

An exciting change for us will be the relocation of our office, we’ll be moving to a more spacious building to accommodate our ever-expanding team of planners, stylists, and florists and travel experts who are dedicated to the success of your experiences.

As we set our goals for this year it’s particularly important for me to acknowledge the passion of our team. An industry that doesn’t really sleep, we put everything into what we do which, in the past year has seen us design and deliver over 100 incredible events, each with their own individual perspective. We are so proud of our production and strive to deliver, time and time again.

So here’s to twenty twenty! Another year of creating memories that last a lifetime!

Getting to New Zealand is effortless. We’re based in Queenstown and our International Airport receives daily direct flights from around New Zealand and regular direct trans-Tasman flights from Australian cities of Brisbane, Coolangatta, Sydney and Melbourne. Auckland and Sydney airports are the major international hub airports for long haul visitors and some international airlines fly into Christchurch airport as well.

Four airlines provide services into Queenstown – Air New Zealand, Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Australia.

In 2016 after dark flights were introduced to Queenstown, opening up even more convenient travel options, with evening flights to and from both Auckland and Australia now available.
